What to expect

Your first session is a structured introduction — not a trial by fire. Here's how it works.

What happens

  1. 1

    Arrive early

Come 15 minutes before class. You'll meet a coach, sign a waiver, and get oriented to the space.

  2. 2

    Assessment conversation

A coach will ask about your experience, goals, and any injuries. This determines your starting path.

  3. 3

    Join the session

You'll participate in the class at your level. Beginners work in fundamentals-only groups with extra coach attention.

  4. 4

    Post-session check-in

After class, a coach reviews what to focus on next and answers any questions about ongoing training.

What to bring

  • Athletic clothing (shorts, t-shirt, or rashguard)
  • Water bottle
  • Hand wraps (available to borrow if needed)
  • Mouthguard (required for sparring; optional for first visit)

Gloves and shin guards are available to borrow for your first session. We have loaner gear for all disciplines.
